12VHPWR
The 16-pin (12+4) power connector that can carry up to 600 W to graphics cards; known for heating problems with poor seating and sharp bending.
// EXPLANATION
600 W at 12 V is about 50 A; even a tiny contact resistance at each pin produces large heat through P = I²R. A connector that is not fully seated, or a cable bent sharply right at the plug, upsets current sharing between pins and can lead to melting. The later 12V-2x6 revision aims to reduce this risk.
