Generator step-up transformer (GSU)
Türkçe: Blok yükseltici trafo (GSU)
The transformer wired directly to a plant generator that raises its voltage (10-25 kV) to the level of the transmission grid.
// EXPLANATION
A GSU is connected to each generator block and, because it carries the plant's entire output, is one of the most critical transformers in the grid. It is designed for a high load factor, frequent load swings and long life; its failure takes the whole block out of service.
