Power grid
Türkçe: Şebeke
The whole of the transmission and distribution lines, substations and switching equipment that moves energy from generation to consumers.
// EXPLANATION
The grid is hierarchical: power plant, step-up transformer, high-voltage transmission, substations, medium-voltage distribution and low-voltage customer. Generation and consumption must be balanced at every instant; large new loads such as AI data centres strain that balance.

// RELATED TERMS
High voltageThe voltage class used to carry energy from power plants to distant loads with low losses, covering levels such as 154 kV and 380 kV on the Turkish transmission grid.
Medium voltageThe voltage class, roughly 1 kV to 36 kV in Turkish practice, that feeds substations and large consumers on the distribution network.
Power transformerA static machine that raises or lowers an AC voltage through electromagnetic induction without changing the frequency.
Data centreA facility housing servers, storage and network equipment together with their power, cooling and security infrastructure.
