Medium voltage
Türkçe: Orta gerilim
The voltage class, roughly 1 kV to 36 kV in Turkish practice, that feeds substations and large consumers on the distribution network.
// EXPLANATION
Medium voltage (MV) is the intermediate step energy passes through on its way from transmission lines down to low-voltage customers. Distribution levels such as 15.8 kV and 31.5 kV are common in Turkey. In MV installations breakers, disconnectors, fuses and protection relays are grouped in metal-enclosed cells, and working rules are far stricter than at low voltage.

High voltageThe voltage class used to carry energy from power plants to distant loads with low losses, covering levels such as 154 kV and 380 kV on the Turkish transmission grid.
MV switchgear cellA compartment where medium-voltage breakers, disconnectors, measuring and protection equipment are grouped inside a metal enclosure.
Power transformerA static machine that raises or lowers an AC voltage through electromagnetic induction without changing the frequency.
